Travelling to Jamaica with your family or a group is straightforward once you know the golden rule: there is one C5 per person, not one per family. One declaration per traveller

Since September 2023, every arriving passenger needs a C5, and each person gets exactly one. That means a family of four submits four declarations, and a group of ten submits ten. There is no combined family form. It sounds like more work than it is: the details repeat in a predictable way, and once you have done the first, the rest follow quickly.

The reason for individual forms is simple. Each declaration carries that person's own passport number, date of birth, and anything they are bringing that customs may want to know about. Immigration and customs scan each traveller's QR code on arrival, so every person needs their own.

Completing several from one sitting

You do not need a separate device or a fresh start for each person. You can prepare one declaration after another in the same session, which is the natural way to handle a family or group. A calm, orderly approach avoids the most common slip, which is mixing up whose details go where.

• Gather every passport before you begin, so the numbers and names are in front of you.
• Complete one person fully, submit it, and save the confirmation before starting the next.
• Enter each person's own passport number, date of birth, and nationality; do not copy the lead traveller's by habit.
• Use the shared flight and arrival details where they genuinely are shared, such as the flight number and the address in Jamaica.
• Label or save each confirmation by name as you go, rather than at the end.

Working one complete person at a time, rather than half-filling several, keeps everything tidy and makes errors easy to spot.

Children and minors

Children need a C5 just as adults do, including babies and infants travelling on their own passport. A parent or guardian completes each child's declaration on the child's behalf, using the child's passport details, not the parent's. The child is still counted as a traveller with their own separate form.

When you complete a child's form, take the name and date of birth directly from their passport so they match exactly. If your family shares an address in Jamaica and the same arriving flight, those fields will be the same across everyone, which makes the children's forms quick to finish once the adults are done.

Keeping every QR code organised

Each submitted C5 produces a confirmation with a QR code, and at the desk you will want to find the right one for the right person without fuss. A little organisation before you fly makes arrival smooth.

• Save each QR to your phone and rename the file or note with the traveller's name.
• Keep a printed backup for the group in a folder or envelope, in case a phone battery runs low.
• Group them in order, for example by adults then children, so you can hand them over one after another.

You can complete each family member's C5 any time up to 30 days before you arrive, and always before you reach immigration.
